Wild Night Out is on Saturday 29th June 2019. It’s a night - and day - of wild adventure, where people of all ages and abilities are encouraged to GetOutside and get inspired. You could go for a walk, kayak down a river, explore a National Park, jump in muddy puddles, go Geocaching, get on your bike, climb a tree, try something new...the possibilities are endless!

And when darkness falls, the fun can continue with a night out under the stars. You don’t have to head to the countryside, why not pitch a tent in your garden? Or if you want to be more adventurous try wild camping with friends.

But why is it important to Get Wild?

Worryingly, research from Natural England shows that one in nine children in England have not been to a natural environment in the past 12 months. Instead, children are spending an average of six hours a day in front of a screen. That’s roughly half of their waking time (Source PHE). The fresh air has incredible health benefits. It can help reset your body clock to sleep better as well as provide a great source of exercise (and with over a third of British people now obese – accessible exercise is more important than ever before).

Wild Night Out is the brainchild of Belinda Kirk, founder of Explorers Connect and one of the leaders of the #AdventureRevolution. Belinda and the Explorers Connect community understand firsthand the impact that adventure can have on people's lives.

What can you do for wild night out?

Wild Night Out encourages everyone – families, first timers, seasoned explorers – to enjoy a night – and day – of wild adventure on Saturday 30th June 2018. It doesn't matter what you like doing, whether it's walking, cycling, kayaking, camping or something else, Wild Night Out is about you finding your adventure.  You can also fundraise for charity and help others explore the outdoors.
