FAQs

I'M BUSY ON Saturday 1 JULY 2017. CAN I Still GET INVOLVED?

Quite simply, yes!

Whilst we are encouraging everyone to GetOutside together as a community on 1 July, it doesn’t matter if your adventure must fall on another day. The most important thing is that we are all taking the time to get outdoors, explore the world around us and raise money to give others less fortunate the opportunity to do the same.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

Through Wild Night Out 2017 we are looking to raise money for both the Youth Adventure Trust and Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE), two charities that help young people to develop their confidence and self-esteem through a program of challenging outdoor experiences.

You can also support your own charities, as long as we are all getting outside and raising money for good causes we really don’t mind.

HOW DOES WILD NIGHT OUT RAISE MONEY for charity?

Wild Night Out is all about taking part in a night - and day - of adventure. We want people to try something new in the outdoors and discover different ways of exploring the natural environment.

Any donation will make a real difference, why not donate the money you saved from getting Wild, create a fundraiser for every mile covered, or donate your wages for the amount of time you spent outside?

The possibilities are endless!

HOW IS ORDNANCE SURVEY Involved with wild night out?

Ordnance Survey (OS) is collaborating with the Wild Night Out event to launch this year’s national day of adventure. OS are delighted to be bringing their GetOutside initiative together with Wild Night Out to create the ultimate night – and day - of exploration and activity. In 2015 OS founded the GetOutside initiative to urge people off the sofa, to ditch the car and GetOutside in the Great British outdoors. Their ultimate aim is to make the outdoors an enjoyable, safe and accessible place for everyone.
